Verb, to move, lie or extend in different directions from a common point; branch off; to differ in opinion, character, or form; deviate; mathematical series or sequence with no unique limit; to have infinity as a limit; to turn away or deviate from a path, practice or plan; to deflect to turn aside.
Once we were so in love, shared mutual interest
Time has taken its toll, now we are apart
Still sharing the same home, for the kids, it’s best
But together no longer in spirit or heart
You have your life and I have mine
Somewhere our paths did diverge away
Acceptance is hard; it’s a matter of time
I loved you once, that, no more, can I say.

moderation or restraint in feelings and behaviour.
I used to trust so easily, always getting hurt
I believed all that you said, you lied
I have learned to hold back my heart
Keep my feelings in check, denied
Instinct, I protect me from harm,
Walls and barriers encase my soul
I am not fooled by wit and charm
Not easily do I let go of temperance and give my all
