Diverge

Verb, to move, lie or extend in different directions from a common point; branch off; to differ in opinion, character, or form; deviate; mathematical series or sequence with no unique limit; to have infinity as a limit; to turn away or deviate from a path, practice or plan; to deflect to turn aside.

Once we were so in love, shared mutual interest
Time has taken its toll, now we are apart
Still sharing the same home, for the kids, it’s best
But together no longer in spirit or heart
You have your life and I have mine
Somewhere our paths did diverge away
Acceptance is hard; it’s a matter of time
I loved you once, that, no more, can I say.
